1 John

John, the apostle of love, writes this letter to:

1. Stop those who hold to the truth of Jesus as God and Saviour from straying into anti-Christian teaching.
2. Give Christians reassurance that they do indeed have eternal life in Jesus. John does this by cycling round three tests for how we may know we have life: the love, obedience and belief tests.
