Dave Collins
I am 51 years old have been a Christian since I was 20. I retired from BP in April 2009 after 32 years service, I trained as a Chemical Engineer and spent most of my career in Chemical Plant Operational Management but spent my last 6 years in Health & Safety and was the HSE Manager and Member of the Site Leadership Team at the BP Chemicals Site in Hull.
My testimony is that whilst I was at University my course was a sandwich course which meant I alternated between 6 months at university and 6 months working in industry. I was sponsored by BP and in my second year I was posted to the BP Refinery in Swansea where Jan was working. We met up and started dating, one of the ‘conditions’ of us going out was that I came to church with her. For the first time I heard the good news of Jesus and after about 3 months of hearing the gospel Sunday by Sunday I realised that Jesus had died for my sins. One Saturday we attended a youth rally in a large church in the centre of Swansea where a group of young Americans were speaking and witnessing about Jesus saving power and so at that rally I gave my life to Jesus.
